This beautiful babe was actually named after a famous 20th century botanist - R.P. Cadiere. Even though it has nicknames like “aluminum plant” or even “watermelon plant” it is no way related to either!

Botanical name: Pilea cadierei

Care tips for a happy plant:

Light: bright indirect is best for these delicate leaves

Soil: regular potting soil- we use Happy Frog

Water: they do like to be watered a little more frequently than your typical house plant. Quite similar to the Fittonia (nerve plant) it will start to droop when thirsty, but will perk right back up after a good watering.

Humidity: not picky

Temperatures: average household temps

Toxicity: pet and human friendly!
